In Between the Cracks
A.E. Derban is a native New Yorker who has worked her way to Southern living in Jacksonville, Florida. Derban is an alumnus of both Regent University (Virginia Beach,VA) and The Shaw University (Raleigh, NC). She continues her life calling as an educator in urban schools while sharing her stories with the world. In Between the Cracks Tells tales about: A father who puts his daughter out of the house because she’s engaged to the wrong man. A woman who misses her husband so much she alienates everyone around her. A few men who reflect about the choices they’ve made in life. A woman who has a strong dislike for her daughter. These short stories catch the characters in medias res, in the middle of the story. Each story is a snapshot of the lives of the characters. We all have those moments in our lives where we feel the experience is unbelievable or where we wish we were a fly on the wall when…I hope these stories make you feel.
