We Must Survive
A puppy, bred in a laboratory as a miniature Rottweiler, did not meet all the professor’s requirements and was scheduled to be euthanized. During the breeding process, however, her brain is altered allowing her to think, reason and plan, as well as possessing the ability to understand human words. She escapes the experimental environment, into the unknown world. She encounters a series of adventures and challenges for survival, both in the wild and with a series of owners. She becomes everything from a faithful companion, to an important part of a magic/comedy routine, all the way to a genuine heroine. Ralph Towner has created a tale which all animal lovers will enjoy but it is much more that that. The story delves into the dog’s human owner’s lives and how their circumstances change profoundly, because of her presence. “We Must Survive” explores how the pet/human bond can become essential to both. The story is a must read for anyone who loves and appreciates their pets.
